Inhibitor of serine proteases, Member of Serpin Family
20 mM sodium phospahte buffer pH7.4; 250 mM NaCl without BSA and Azide, free of heparin
Diseases associated with SERPINC1 include Thrombophilia Due To Antithrombin Iii Deficiency and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation. Among its related pathways are Platelet activation, signaling and aggregation and Formation of Fibrin Clot (Clotting Cascade).
Antithrombin is the most important serine protease inhibitor in plasma that regulates the blood coagulation cascade. AT-III inhibits thrombin, matriptase-3/TMPRSS7, as well as factors IXa, Xa and XIa. Its inhibitory activity is greatly enhanced in the presence of heparin.
